For those in the inner circle you know I’ve been cooking up a little something. Comically the only thing that I shared was that I would need your mailing addresses LOL ominous much!?

This post is going live quite literally 20 days after I’m writing this because I’d like for it to be a lovely surprise in your mailbox. AND I believe the last of y’all just received the, this past weekend. I’ve kept the secret long enough I can’t ruin it NOW.

Mad Colorful Monthly is something that I’ve been planning since mid November of last year. Tbh I’ve always been fascinated with magazines ever since a project in 8th grade. Yes, this is bananas but go with me. We had to layout this historical magazine and I completely nerded out. I took over the group project and ours ended up being the best one in the class. No surprise there LOL

Ever since then I have always had this dream to have my own magazine some day. Like how cool would that be? To be an editor, to lay it out stories and content with things that I really liked.

Fast forward to last fall when I was feeling very lost and burnt out. I had just got this website up and going and was starting to see a glimmer of possibility.

What if I JUST FREAKING DID IT.

from there I immediately started brainstorming how COULD I do it. I wasn’t trying to spend a lot of money to get it going so I had to get creative.

What could appear like a magazine:

be cost effective

not require an envelope

wouldn’t be too heavy

Would meet 1 postage stamp requirements

Have enough pages but not too many

OMG IM OVERWHELMED ALREADY

a zine. A zine was the answer to it all. Frankly I had no idea what that word even was but boy oh boy it’s now one of my faves.
