The Importance of a Signature Scent
Whether my crab likes it or not Kermit casa is being designed as if it is my very own bed and breakfast.
Morgan…all those handyman RHIM classes have led me to the moment #IYKYK
But in all seriousness I’m not kidding. It is my absolute dream to have a bed and breakfast so this feels like a natural trial run.
I want this house to be THE coziest place on the earth. I want it to be inviting, a place friends stay too long, a place to gather and gab, a place to share many meals and good laughs and honestly feel like a home away from home that you never want to check out of.
Which leads me to todays topic…a signature scent.
And no I’m not talking about YOUR signature scent…I’m talking about your HOMES signature scent.
I’m a weirdo when it comes to smells. Scent memory is alive and well up in this ole nose of mine and frankly it’s one of the first things I notice when walking into a hotel. A bad smell is bad vibes if you ask me.
So naturally, I wanted to find a mix of my crab, high end hotel and some good old fashioned MONEY HONEY!!
All of this led me to Quince’s Bois de Santal.
The smell is absolutely Devine. Obviously I’ve been testing it at my house the last few days and let me just say when I open the front door it feels like I’m getting a hug from my crab while standing in the lobby of a luxury hotel resort LMAO.
I will say this time and time again…The devil is in the details y’all.
And the little details matter when it comes to your home.
There are so many simple things you can do to elevate the experience of being in a space, and I think scent is one that often gets overlooked. Whether it’s candles, plug-ins, or a reed diffuser, it’s one more little layer that makes a house feel like YOUR home.
So, what does your home’s signature scent say about you?
I’m hoping this one says…
