24 Hours in Tucson
I don’t do day trips often but when I do it’s likely to Tucson. For those of you who live in Arizona and haven’t been you definitely need to go… like this next weekend. It is such an easy drive and is not only a nice change of scenery but a nice change in weather. Yes, 1.5 hours down the road the temperatures can be up to 10 degrees cooler than Scottsdale and my gawd that can be a game changer some days.
Now I will say this weekend it was still toasty, I lowkey think I got some few nose freckles from being outside but it wasn’t my face is melting off hot.
I drove down for the Arizona homecoming tailgate. No I did not go to this school, and I realized I had been calling it the wrong school name until about halfway through the tailgate LOL. crab went there and there was a group of friends and fam (also alumni) who wanted to go and check it out.
Idk if I’m just getting old but DAMN was this tailgate on another level. Granted it was homecoming but still this was not how I remembered tailgates at Texas tech (almost) 10 years ago. WOW im old. This sentence alone further validates my recent dip into the Botox pond but I digress.
And like any millennial after a splendid early afternoon of day drinking we found ourselves asleep on the couch shortly after we left the tailgate... only to be woken up by the heavenly smell of chamomile tea. Holy shit I really am like 75. Tea was bomb though LOL.
The evening consisted of a birthday party for a friend complete with a taco truck. No corn tortillas though #sadface. It ended with too many hours of a golf simulator (IMO) and everyone belting their favorite Disney songs at the top of their lungs. I can’t say that’s what they intended that sound system to be used for but it was magical. You know, just normal adult things.
