A Little Workplace Magic

The entire time I have worked at my office I have never worn my badge. I’m sure I’m supposed to and likely agreed to do so in a training module butttt it just always clashed with my vibe. Comically, because I don’t wear it I’m constantly trying to find it #imtheproblem. Bambi (my work bag) is no small girlie. And let me tell you the panic that ensued every morning at the gate trying to find a little badge was becoming debilitating. I couldn’t fathom being THE car that is slowing down the line to get into the parking lot in the morning #embarrassing.

As I’m fixing to enter in my 9th year at the company I’ve decided to fully embrace my whimsy. It’s practically my personal brand at this point so I’m leaning ALL the way in y’all. This is how I landed on the idea to make my badge into a wand. Yes, you read that correctly.

I’m sure you’ve seen the videos where people make credit card wands for birthdays. That is EXACTLY what I wanted to emulate but with my badge instead. I had looked on Etsy originally but then I was worried because my badge is a bit thicker than the traditional card so naturally I decided to take matters into my own hands (insert hobby lobby trip here).

SUPPLIES NEEDED

• mini dowel sticks

• Bandana

• Embroidery thread

• Needles

• Paint

This was a lovely little midweek project that I knocked out in an evening while catching up on my bravo shows. I have to admit the first day I used my badge at the gate I was SUPER nervous it wasn’t going to work but when it did I was literally over the moon. VERY easy to find in Bambi too btw.

Waving my wand to get in every morning has completely altered my feeling going into the office. How can I be mad when my day starts with a little bit of magic.
