Justice for the Covid Hobbies

Unpopular opinion but Covid hobbies are unmatched. Working out, long walks in the park, and puzzles for days. It definitely was a time where I feel like as a society we all really did stop and smell the roses. Things were simpler and the pace was much slower or at least that’s what my experience was.

I myself became quite the puzzler during lockdown. It was a delightfully satisfying way to pass the time and challenge the ole noggin. However, at the time I didn’t have a kitchen table and my coffee table was a legit wooden trunk so the size of my puzzles were a bit limited.

As I am on this journey to create a more colorful life for myself I have found that I am gravitating back to the things I loved during lockdown. I recently ordered a puzzle and let me just say that shit hits DIFFERENT. Let me set the stage for yall…picture this, mood lighting, candle lit, pjs on, high school musical 2 playing in the background…CHEFS FREAKING KISS. Unwinding after a long day at work by sitting down and working through a puzzle has been so wholesome.

PSA: we don’t need a global shutdown to give ourselves permission to slow down and do things simply because they make us happy #period

Part of designing a more colorful life is figuring out what makes your days feel good and intentionally making room for more of it. Apparently for me, that means puzzles, mood lighting and Zac Efron singing Bet On It (That sequence is so iconic and you will never be able to convince me otherwise tbh)

Justice for the Covid hobbies. Let’s bring them back!!!
