Ohio for work…groundbreaking

I don’t EVER get to travel for work but when I do I get to go to the fabulous mid-west. while you might think I’m being sarcastic here I was genuinely SO excited to go to Cincinnati to visit our print vendor LOL #nerdalert

It has been a hot minute since I had personally experienced mid west nice and y’all that warmth and love filled my cup up so much it was about overflowing by the time I got home on Friday.

Everyone was SOOOO nice. Like ready to give the shirt off their back to a stranger nice.

Idk about you but sometimes when I travel somewhere i notice that everything around me slows down. I don’t feel the hustle and the gogogo that I’d say I experience most days at home. It’s lovely and quite peaceful and frankly couldn’t have come at a better time with all the Kermit casa drama looming.

I was very thankful for the delightful distraction and switch up of my normal routine.

Touring the facilities had me like a kid in a candy shop. In store signage in my JAM and I find it so fascinating. Seeing the inventory and the legit time, effort and COUNTLESS number of people who make each and every sign in our sign kit possible.(p.s. I wish I could share more pics but holiday was on press so it’s top secret…eeek!)

It also put a lot into perspective and reminded me that my job is pretty cool when I get my head out of the corporate clouds.

And then, naturally, we had to end the trip with the most quintessential Cincinnati experience possible: Skyline Chili.

LUCKILY they had a gluten-free option #blessed. It was hilarious, king of odd, very filling, almost certainly more calories than I needed ANDDD the absolute perfect way to end the trip.

I went to Ohio expecting to nerd out over signage inventory and somehow came home with my cup a little fuller, my brain a little quieter and a much-needed reminder that sometimes a switch-up in routine is exactly what you need to remind you of everything you have…even if that switch-up involves a work trip to Ohio and an alarming amount of cheese LMAO.
