Stem Size Matters
Idk when exactly this started but perhaps it just comes with age…do not and I repeat DO NOT ever hand me a wine glass with a chunky ass stem. Nothing can kill my vibe quicker. And nothing will make it into the girls group chat faster than a repulsive stem. Get that shit out of here.
The smaller the stem the better the drink tastes. I’m not a scientist so don’t ask me why but it’s true. The aesthetic look of a small stemmed glass is so mesmerizing. Perhaps it makes us feel dainty? That we are fancy enough not to care that if it breaks it’s going to be okay?
Also the shape of the bowl itself needs to match; thin, interestingly shaped…OBSESSED. Chunky basic…#ewe
And listen, I understand this is an objectively ridiculous thing to care this deeply about. There are literal wars happening. The economy is doing whatever TF the economy does. And here I am being personally victimized by a 7mm wine glass stem.
Buttt this is also kind of my whole thing. The tiny details MATTER. The plate matters. The lighting matters. The font on the menu absolutely matters and it better not be times new Roman!! So you bet your ass the vessel delivering fermented grapes to my mouth matters.
Seeing as I’ve experienced my fair share of wine glasses on this trip, I felt it was my civic DUTY to rank them :)
